Are you willing? Willing to serve that is? Here is an honest confession. I'm not always willing to serve. Sometimes I become selfish and want to be served instead of serving. When we encounter that we need a spiritual renewal. Remember as a Christ follower/disciple we have been called to serve. David asks for a willing spirit. We should too. We need a desire to be a servant to others. It is our call.
So when you find your self lacking in motivation to serve. Follow David's lead and ask God for a willing spirit. He will give it to you. He wants you to serve as well.
